Write Out a Plan
Have a written plan as to how you are going to achieve your goals. Write out “to-do” lists to keep yourself focused on what needs to be done and the steps that need to be taken. Review your plan and your lists often to keep yourself on the right track.
An artistic and engaging method of staying focused and motivated is to make a vision board which exemplifies all of your goals. Keep this vision board with all of its symbols, quotes, and phrases of everything you are striving for where you can see it every day.
Keep Moving/Stay Active
When you are feeling lethargic and unmotivated, it may be in your best interest to get some exercise. Go for a short, brisk walk around the block, engage in some yoga exercise, or go to the gym for an hour. Getting moving may get your creative juices flowing and energize you enough to get you a second wind. Make a point to get plenty of exercise and do not spend too much time sitting or standing in one place. Stay active and you will find that you will be ready to take on almost anything. Your energy and motivation levels will remain high.
Limit Social Engagements
Getting out and interacting with others may get you going but sometimes it can be too much of a good thing. For example, you may be working on a short film and find yourself attending so many media meetings, film premieres, and other events, that you lose sight of what you are trying to do. It may become necessary to limit these social engagements even though they are relevant to your hobby or career.

Staying motivated can be a constant monitoring of one’s self. Don’t let your motivation levels drop because you are not paying attention. Realize that to get what you want and to where you want in life, you must stay the course.
